Families torn apart, lonely children - with help for Armenia
– Dad is not with us … I don’t know when I saw him for the last time, but it was a long time. I know he loves me because he calls me a lot. Besides, he will come back to us soon, as he promised me, ”said 10-year-old Samvel when we asked him if we could talk to his parents. Walking around the suburbs of Ararat in Armenia, you get the impression that time has stood still. There is a terrifying silence, and apparently it used to be terribly noisy here. It is hard to believe, but many people, mainly fathers, left in search of work. Unfortunately, it is the children who suffer the most. Now their fate is in our hands. It is up to us what the future awaits them. The ADRA Polska Foundation is helping Armenia.
Thanks to you, we can help children like Artur and Avetis
After the 1988 Spitak earthquake in Armenia, the Gasparyan family lost their home along with hundreds of other people. From that moment on, their lives changed irretrievably. For 30 years they have been living in a place that is a patchwork of materials they find. Despite their hard fate, they keep working, creating, smiling and finding beauty in life. For Artur and Avetis it is the house where they were born, where they took their first steps, where they live with their loving parents. Despite the fact that there is no water, heating, cooking gas and other amenities, their parents taught them to enjoy life.
One winter evening, after visiting dozens of other similar families in Gyumri, the ADRA Foundation also visited the family of Arthur and Avetis. They welcomed our team with joy on their faces and grateful hearts. It is unbelievable how much happiness we could give them. They were moved by the hygiene products, food products and clothes for children we prepared.
Together, we are able to help children in need in Armenia.
Your gift of PLN 100 will support the funding of hygiene products, educational games and an educational program for one child from the city of Ararat
Help children in Armenia with us
We bring joy
The first performances before the audience, the accompanying emotions and a smile on the faces of the children, are unforgettable moments for our pupils. The aim of our projects is to share joy and happiness and create an opportunity to add color to the childhood of children from poor families in the city of Ararat. We want to improve their self-esteem and increase motivation for learning and personal development.
Yes, our help for Armenia includes regular gifts given to children from poor families. Usually, the necessary hygiene products and educational games are found there. Unbelievable how little for us means so much to them. During one of the first actions, we asked the children to write their dream gifts on the cards. We read in disbelief how modest their needs were.
We direct our aid to rural areas
The Ararat region of Armenia is a rural area with 260,000 people. people. The main occupation of the inhabitants is agriculture. The economic condition of the region is low and therefore many men migrate to work abroad. Children are in a particularly difficult situation. Going on vacation is only a dream for many of them, because their parents are primarily occupied with providing them with basic needs, such as food, clothing or heating the apartment. Although the region is close to the capital, children are deprived of many of the entertainment available there, such as theater or concerts. As a result, the youngest grow up with no access to education and cultural development. They have a communication problem. Most children are ashamed of talking to new people because of this. These children also do not have their basic material needs met. As a result, they do not see perspectives for themselves, which demotivates them to engage in education and self-development. The years of these children pass without leaving any fond memories.
